Sway-A-Way has long been known as a leader in high performance suspension components. Beginning as a manufacturer of torsion bars for a 911 Porsche racecar 30 years ago, Sway-A-Way developed a full line of VW suspension components for street and off-road use. As the company grew, torsion bars and sway bars for mini trucks, and sports cars were added to the product line.

SAW president Brian Skipper, has long been an active enthusiast in various forms of street performance and off-road racing. While in school for his degree in mechanical engineering he raced many desert races in class 1, class 2 and class 9. In 1975 he won the SCORE

Engine Builder of theYear award for excellence in building VW based racing engines for desert racing buggies. During his racing career he won many off-road races. Teaming with Bob Gordon, he won the SCORE and High Desert Racing Association Championship in an unlimited Class Two-Buggy. Over the years he has continued to be involved in all forms of racing.

Sway-A-Way products have been developed using a combination of engineering theory and hands-on racing experience. The success of this developmental process is witnessed by the fact that, at the finish line of virtually every major off-road race, Sway-A-Way has been part of the winning team. In 1997 SAW added the popular RaceRunner Shock line to its wide range of suspension products. These shocks were developed for the performance, prerun, off-road racing and street market.

Sway-A-Way products are manufactured with the same tradition of performance engineering and superior quality. The company has recently located to a new 30,000 square foot facility to better meet the needs of our customers. The new manufacturing facility includes state of the art CAD design work along with CNC lathes, CNC Mills, Gear Hobs, Grinders, CNC Bending, Forging and most recently a shock dyno capable of 16" of stroke at speeds of 120 inches per second.

Sway-A-Way's professional engineering staff includes degreed mechanical engineers and designers, along with a full professional administrative staff. All machine operators are highly trained and have years of experience and technical know-how.
